Hi, my name is Racquel Jones. I was born in Jamaica and came to the United States at age 5 and was raised in the Bronx, NY. As a high school and college student, my friends would often come to me to talk about whatever problems they were having and found me to be an empathetic listener for them.
Although I am a natural born helper, I planned to work in fashion journalism but after graduating with a degree in journalism and unable to find a position in my field and working in an adoption agency I found my true calling and decided to return to school to get my Masters Degree in Social Work. I'm a graduate of Hunter College School of Social Work in New York City and can't imagine doing any other type of work. I am a warm and compassionate psychotherapist who provides culturally competent therapy. I strive to be nonjudgmental and to provide a safe place for my clients to explore whatever issues are troubling them. I love the work that I do and I feel honored to help the people who chose me as their therapist. Most of my clients come to me seeking help for anxiety, depression, trauma, managing with life transitions, relationship issues, binge eating and body dysmorphia. If any of this sounds familiar to you, please reach out, together we can work towards the change you deserve to help you lead a more fulfilling and happy life.
In addition to traditional in office therapy, I also offer online therapy, through a secure website. Online therapy allows flexibility for my clients. By using online therapy, we can speak while you're at home, your office or anywhere which is convenient for you.
In addition to being a therapist, I love writing, reading, cooking and listening to music especially Prince, Beyonce and Rihanna and dancing. I look forward to helping you
